On Wednesday 25 October, the students of 2º BTO, along with their teachers have been to the
Cervantes theatre to see the film ”Drylongso”, an American drama film directed by Cauleen
Smith and shot in Oakland, California.
“Drylongso” is an old African American term that means “ordinary” or “just the same old
thing”. The film centres on a young black photography student, Pica, and it addreses the
everydayness of violence and the extraordinary beauty of daily life.
Pica feels deeply the value and vulnerability of everyone’s life but her own. Armed with a
Polaroid camera, she documents the existence of Young black men, whom she believes to be
an endangered species.
It is really a story that needs to be heard…
